Alright, here are a few of the things on the immediate horizon I wanted to share with you all.
Stats:
First off, with a quick look at stats, we should have some point per game players this season, but obviously if a player isn't gelling he won't produce. Some teams can note that fact as they trade players and all of a sudden they are good - it really is just a good "fit" on wherever they are and sometimes those players just can't find their groove on your team. It happens, it happens in real life, and it has to be dealt with by the GM on what he feels is most appropriate for his club.
Goaltenders are finally playing the way they should be playing. You'll notice that most GOOD goaltenders are playing at over a 0.910SV% pace, which is great and appropriate and realistic.
All back-up goaltenders are signed to play games, but we also want to avoid fatigue injuries as much as possible, so every 9 or 10 DAYS, goaltenders will be switched to relieve the primary goaltender for at least 2 games (3 max).
Minor Leagues - remember, if you don't demote them, they either don't play or they won't play in the minors. You manage who stays up and who goes down, and if you'd like we can create a demotions section where you can post your call-ups and send-downs for us to process.
Lines - If you do not know already, Belfour (Panthers) has been granted the ability to manipulate all lines, so he will be the one updating them when you post in the Lines thread found in the News section on the main page. If you have a growing concern regarding your lines, you can contact him or post your concern in the Lines section where I can review it and make sure everything is done to accommodate your request/concern.
Simming - I had a brief discussion with Panthers regarding the simming speed. I've also spoken with about a half dozen of you about the lack of trading and such that is happening. It seems most people are waiting it out, players don't want to waive too early in the season as it is far too unpredictable to see where a team can end up, and there's a lack of cap space.
Panthers and I have agreed to improve the pace of the simming on the site, so you get more action. As such, I will be simming one DAY daily, and Panthers will be simming as well, providing at least an additional day or two here and there (which might be daily as well, based on his availability). This will speed the season along without hurting anything. We will still have a one-week break for trade deadline.
Trading - make trades guys, come on, do it, give in to peer pressure, it's fun!
Input - If there's anything else you want to know, want to say to us, etc. this is the place to do it.
Good luck the rest of the way!
