After a year in which the salary cap stayed the same, this year it will be rising. With an abundance of new GMs and player production on the rise, there was far more activity and attention payed to ManNHL, and thus it will reflect upon the new salary cap.

The SEASON 8 Salary Cap is now set at: 72.000M

With teams looking to negotiate new contracts, the added space will allow for more wiggle room in determining which rookies might make the jump and if the club wishes to pursue more high end free agents.

Secondly, with an abundance of free agents and players not quite ready to retire, a new league has re-surfaced. Dissipated after season 4, the KHL has returned and will be signing, via draft, any free agent who wishes to play next season if a contract cannot be reached in ManNHL. Any player that wishes to play in the KHL will be selected through the KHL draft this off-season and immediately signed to a one-year contract. All players drafted and signed will become UFAs following the 2015-16 season (Season 8 - upcoming season), but there is no official word yet if any of these players may sign with a ManNHL team during the course of Season 8.

The minor league teams will also be expanding by at least two clubs. Each club will feature all minor league players assigned to the AHL by the respected NHL clubs, as well as all upcoming draft prospects. Each team will feature 5 players at each forward position, 7 defencemen and 3 goaltenders.

All players subject to be drafted will thus be scouted based on their performance in the minor league by all ManNHL teams. A list of the possible draftees will be provided, but no official ranking will be posted until the conclusion of the season.

The increase in teams will allow for more players to see game-time action and improve the development system for young clubs.

great news for the more minor league teams. Gonna be having quite a few crucial prospects in the minors next year and hope they play 15+ mins per night. KHL coming back is pretty good too because there were waaaay too many FAs this season and no one signed most of them even the good ones who produced like Nystrom. This way those type of guys can play somewhere else where they'll get fat contracts too.

good stuff all around, the only thing I would suggest is to make the AHL teams 4 forwards of each position, 6 d-men and 2 goalies. That way everyone's prospect will at least get ice time. To fix the injury issue you could always make shitty temp players to fill the void. Not a major need but if you have the time to do it then I thing it will be a good move.

@bruins: that is what I plan to do, hence 5 forwards, 7 defence, three goaltenders. All extra will be "temporary forward 1, 2, 3) etc. That said, I may ask that teams keep two forwards and two extra defence in the pros as extras and not re-call any prospects unless absolutely necessary. Obviously using those extras as two-way contracts but never actually being assigned to minors, but can be "in" minors according to roster page.

probably a good idea since calling up/down and fixing all minor teams for each call up would be a pain.

Maybe you could make 1 or 2 set times where GMs can call up / send down their extras should one be preforming very well in the AHL, give them a shot. You could choose to do it on Jan.1 and at the trade deadline.

Not a big deal either way though. I'm sure we will manage ;D

good to here, none of my minor league players got to play in the minors last year. Gee it was a good idea to trade most of my players for draft picks that weren't even good enough to play in the minors. I hope they got better playing 5 minutes a game in the minors while a bunch of NHL players got good playing time in the minors. I still don't see this fixing the problem of there being about 40 NHL caliber players playing in the minors and taking up quality ice time. I hope these 30 year old players are just getting worse playing in the minors and not better.
