Does no one ever read what I say? I just said I can score the same cheap ass "glitch goal" 7 out of 10 tries in the demo. How does that lead to "play the demo and you will seee" and "removing glitch goals" You can skate backwards. It's a medium sized tweak. It did not affect my experience in the game that much. And your "Also, if improving the skating and essentially removing glitch goals means we get the same cup celebration... cool " comment - YOU PAY $60 a fucking year!!! HOW ARE YOU COOL WITH THAT??? This is why I think you are being stupid here. You think its acceptable, "COOL" even, that they don't change easy-to-change shit. They are selling you recycled shit. You pay the price of a WHOLE NEW game. Any other game you buy new for $60 is a new game, Halo, Uncharted, God of War , etc. NEW GAME. When they are recycled stuff with cool new features (God of War Origin Collection, Metal Gear Solid Collection), these companies do NOT charge 60 fucking dollars. It's recycled code with minor tweaks, and is sold at much lower prices. NHL 13 is worth the 60 bucks. You seem to be the only one that have said they found a glitch goal.... I don't know what more to expect? The cup celebration is fine, not a big deal. If you expect to see everything new, EVERY year...... you don't know what is possible in a year. Also, you can't compare a SPORTS GAME to a fucking war game. War games come out pretty much every two years because they have to completely revamp the game. Sports Games literally CAN'T be revamped..... They release one for every NHL season.... which is what should happen. If you tried to build a brand new sports game in a year, it would look like crap. Also people not buying the game as you suggest would change nothing, they would just shut down the NHL series and move on. Again, if you think all they did to the skating is let you skate backwards when ever you want then you clearly haven't played the demo. The fact that you say that you have found glitch goals, tells me you haven't played the demo.

False Cor . Sports games can be revamped. NBA 2K11 , 12 and next 2K 13. Also The Madden Games which are also made by EA are always Revamped pretty much every year. They always Improve and add new features every season they also add new cut scenes and the commentators aren't always saying the same thing every season. In BC NHL games cost 67 bucks and that's including tax.

Madden does the exact same thing as NHL.... NHL is waiting for next season because the contract is up with the current announcers (I believe, either that or NHL 14 is their last game)
I don't find Madden changes anymore then NHL, same with 2K NBA

NBA 2K changed a lot from 2K10 to 2K11. 11 to 12 was similar but 2K11 was a different animal but the same beast when compared to 2K10

Yeah. Have you guys played NHL 12 and NHL 13? Way different.
You say Madden added more commentary, more features and more cut screens
NHL DID ALL OF THAT FOR NHL 13.
Features: GM Connected (HUGE), NHL Moments (Pretty sick, especially legend moments), Skating Physics (are actually realistic, you can't turn 90 degrees anymore going full speed) Goaltending refined (despite what PR says, I have seen 1 on youtube.... done in free skate.... which involves skating backwards in the corner to just in front of the net and shooting. It was done on rookie and would never work with defenders of normal setting let alone superstar/all-star. Also it still only worked about 8/12 attempts he did) EASHL was refined (captains/assistants was really the only thing asked for, and they made matching better) BAPro has new stuff in it.
The whole presentation got revamped... replay's, added commentary (commentary also makes sense now), Intros.... pretty much the only thing unchanged with presentation is the cup celebration.... but it's still a good celebration. They added a TRUE broadcast angle... which is fun to play on.
People like you are only happy if EVERY single cutscreen is removed, if they bring in the commentators and shoot a completely new script, 5 new features are added, every other mode is completely redone and they don't re-use codes at all. It's impossible.

Cor...you haven't played NHL 13. You played a demo. That's like me saying something is the best movie ever cause I saw the trailer.
Now, Let's pretend you can read. And let's pretend you buy a book. If you bought this book and discovered that 60% was another book you already owned and 40% was new material, yet you still had to pay full price for it, you would be happy with this? Really? If the author re-used the same chapters, the same words, and the same characters for HALF the book? But it was presented as (and charged as) a brand new book?
If you are reusing the same code every year, at least give people the break of only charging 49.99. Give the consumer's ass a break from all the raping.
Oh, and to top this off, EA was the company that started doing this major "Online Pass" bullshit as well. You get to pay them extra if you buy the game used. That works out great for them. Publish one game, collect money for 2 or more, depending on how many times its sold.
But you fanboys go on sucking EA's proverbial dick. Clearly they are Jesus.

SO you want EA to change the characters.....
Anyway it's in the licensing with the NHL that they want a yearly release... WWE, NBA, MLB, PGA, NFL ALL need yearly releases. That only gives them about 7 to 8 months of actually work time. All the shit listed above was ALL done in about 8 months. You keep making comparisons (a book wtf?) that make ZERO sense.
Bottom line is you expect them to pull off a miracle and come out with a brand new game each year like COD does every two years.... in Sports Games you HAVE to keep code. Why the fuck would you re-write it if you already used the same fucking code in last years game. It makes no sense.
You have no clue of the business or how much work it actually takes.
Also, there is about 8 companies that all started the online pass, wasn't just EA. It's to lower the re-selling of games. The "used" price goes straight to your buddies, a stranger or a store's pockets. Companies makes you pay like 7 bucks in Microsoft Points in order for you to play online so they get some money out of resale.
Your just someone that likes to bitch about shit constantly. Oh and P.S keep coming with the constant insults.... it really proves your point

COD a) makes a new game every year, and b) the mechanics are generally the same there too - but they have 2 different teams working on 2 separate sub-games (Modern warfare and Black ops, at present).
The "used" price of games goes to GameStop/EB Games, and guess where the money most frequently goes? TO NEW FUCKING GAMES. You trade in your old shit to buy new shit. COmpanies don't see that.
EA produces ONE copy of the game, and are trying to cash in on multiple copies of the game. It's pretty unethical, but as I said, the EA lovers will buy their shit even if it was a single screen of game that said "We rape babies". EA's next best-seller right there. They could even release a sequel the following year, which just as many people would buy.
I don't know how you get 8 months of development cycle each year here though. As soon as they finish work on 13, they should be right back to work on 14. "Hey, what are some cool new ideas we can put in there to make this a better game". If "skating backwards" is the only thing you come up with after 20 years of making NHL games, might be time to step aside and let someone else make games, cause your Creative department is HURTING.
You asked me for some things they could do, some EASY things they could do. I provided you a small list. Everyone pretended I didn't say anything, cause, HOLY SHIT - PR was right. That is EASY shit that you would LOVE to have in your game. But EA is God, so we'll just shut up about it...
Also, I don't see how you think the book analogy is any different. As a consumer, all you EVER have to worry about is the product you are buying. If the product you are buying is the same as a previous product, it should be considered CRAP.
And lastly, your "Your [sic] just someone that likes to bitch about shit constantly" comment - where do you get this from? I didn't bitch at all about the UFC game. They did it right. Took a year off, made massive changes, made a great game. If you do it right, I am happy. I WANT to want to buy the NHL games every year, but any time I do that, I get bored after a month, because they are the same game every year. I will wait until NHL 14 (or later, if they don;t do anything good for 14 - since skating backwards is "the biggest innovation in the series in 6 years"), and odds are, any of the new crap they put in 13 will be much more refined - as it would be if they used proper development cycles.

They dont start development for NHL 14 until mid November. They only have 8 strong months to build the game.
If you dont think NHL 12 and 13 are different, your fucking retarded
Done.

If you can so strongly argue that they are COMPLETELY different games after only playing the demo, clearly you are their ideal consumer - mindless drone who will be happy with whatever shit they give you. Hell, I am sure you would buy the demo if they were kind enough to sell you a copy.

We COULD resort to blantant childish name-calling, or we COULD continue discussing this like adults. The choice is yours.
And while we are on the topic, once COULD argue that since I have been playing NHL games longer than you, I may be more apt to recognize EA's repetition patterns than you, especially if you think a demo should be nominated for game of the year, which you seem to think.
New question for you, if you can calm down long enough to stop flinging turds around like an ape - Do you feel this strongly that EVERY EA NHL game has been drastically different and thus every NHL game worth $60 every single year (since about 1999 - before that they were almost $100)?

The worst part about sports games is that one year later, they are worth doodoo. 3 years after Oblivion came out, they still charged you 40 bucks for it. NHL 11 is like the same thing as NHL 12 besides updated rosters but isn't worth anything now. 13 is a pretty big improvement but why buy it now when you can get it for 20 bucks a year from now?

The price for NHL 11 is about 35 bucks with taxes at EB games.
Oblivian "Game of the Year" edition is 22 with taxes.
so....
