WHATS NEXT FOR MANNHL?
As you know, this site has been dying slowly for a while now. In an effort to renew and revitalize the whole ManNHL experience, we are making an exciting new change.
We'll be moving ManNHL onto a brand new, cleaner, crisper board. We'll be grabbing new, exciting teams. And we'll be going a little bit retro.
Introducing ManNHL: Lockout!
In light of the current lockout, we're paying homage to seasons lost, and we will start ManNHL Lockout just before the 2004-05 season and we will PLAY the lockout season. Moving forward, we will draft players actually drafted, and move forward from there.
What's new?
- THE SIMULATOR! - this was a big factor for a lot of people here. UHS was glitchy and inconsistent and we had to constantly update it, causing inconsistency. Now we've got a brand new simulation program, designed for us exclusively by a friend of mine. We are using it smoothly on ManNHL 1980 right now. Production is better, and simming is smoother.
- The Realistic Factor - we are NOT abolishing the key feature of ManNHL - The PR (you're stuck with me, suckas). There may be small tweaks to key features like waivers and 2-way contracts, but the salary scale will be completely overhaulled. With the updated simulator, the wonky production scale will not be a factor. But most of all, with the new simulator, the constant changes in UHS will not be present. Guys may have up and down seasons, but its not like we will have to overhaul the players again and things like that.
- The first season of ManNHL: Lockout will have no contracts and thus no NMCs and NTCs. After the first season, people will see the production of their players, and will immediately get to negotiate contracts for an entire team, omitting whoever they choose not to retain, and thus launch our first free agency period with "passed on" players. With a new salary cap, you'll be able to completely dictate how your team will be outfitted top to bottom.
- A new RFA process called RFA Open Auction Bidding. This will eliminate arbitration and open the door to a newer, quicker RFA negotiation period that allows teams to actively pursue their players in an open auction format.
- 20/20 Hindsight-Drafting - draft knowing who is coming when, and plan your team accordingly. No more guessing at guys you have never heard of. At the end of our first season, we have the Crosby draft. Where will The Kid go this time? You decide.
- Legends - relive the glory of the final days of legends such as Brandan Shanahan, Steve Yzerman, Ed Belfour, Brett Hull, Alexander Mogilny, Joe Sakic, Rob Blake, and Mario Lemieux!
- Prodigies - Draft up-coming superstars, such as Crosby, Kane, Kessell, Stamkos, Doughty, Schenn, Tavares, Duchene, etc.
