A team may place any player in the auctions, but once placed in auctions, the player can not be removed, unless no bids were placed on the player, or the best placed bid exceeds the lowest possible exchange in comparisson to the auctioned players worth.
The player will be left in there for 48 hours, at which time all teams can place unlimited bids for the player, until either the time runs out, or WITHIN the 48 hour time limit, the team who placed the player in auctions has selected an offer, and has posted his acceptance of the offer in the auction.
All auction agreements must pass through submitted trades, and will be approved by league admins.
Any team who offers a player for the auctioned player can not go back on his or her offer. In other words, if you offer Iginla for Brashear, and he accepts, you just lost Iginla.
However, if the agreed auctioned price exceeds the limitations of a decent deal, the league can reject it. BUT! IF a player like Ovechkin is on there and his price drives higher and higher, compared to the other offers, the deal can still go through based on the high priced offered by several teams. It's essentially an "auction" so, if it goes over, but the rest of the deals are just as extreme, the deal can potentially be approved by means of "demand". That is the argument that must be made if the deal is rejected. But if the demand isn't proven by having other offers just as high, the deal can be rejected outright by mods and administration. The PR can ALSO rejected the deal COMPLETELY if it exceeds limitations.
If a team does not specify they are on vacation during those 48 hours, in the vacation thread, nor does he or she select an offer, the player will be placed in free agency.
