After careful deliberation, conception and planning, Leafs and I worked out a new "feature" that we find sort of cool, especially in maintianing our reputation as the most realistic sim league around. Here's the details: The Feature: Budget The Options: First, let me emphasize that posting and using Budget is entirely optional. The Details: Each team can choose to post a team Budget section (where you post your rosters, etc). For season 2, this budget will be a total of $60M. Your cap comes out of your budget. Any bonuses you offer in contracts including charity donations, signing bonuses, cars, etc. ALL COME OUT OF YOUR BUDGET. The Catch: If you opt out of the budget option, the "catch" is that you are unable to offer signing bonuses, or donations, or anything like that. The Cool Parts: At the end of the season, a new ManNHL award will be handed out for Shrewdest GM. If you make the most money (thus, have the most money after deductions such as cap, bonuses, etc) you will get this reward. It will probably come in the form of a non-draftable First round selection (meaning you get the 5 creation points for another player) Furthermore, having a budget section allows you to TRADE CASH for players. This will be added on to the other team's budget. The Sample: PR BUDGET PAGE Salary Paid: 51.3MBonuses: 2M - Gretzky signing bonus (1M) - Lemieux signing bonus (1M) Other Expenses: 2M- Charity donation for Bure trade (1M) - ideally, provide link also - Cash trade (1M to Winnepag in Selanne trade) Income: 2M- 2M from Chicago in Roenick trade League Budget: 60M Team Budget Remaining: 6.7M (according to Montreal....)Feel free to leave any questions or feedback here in this section. Let the games begin!

Considering my sub-par math skills, it's doubtful I'll do it haha, but still, great idea, I'm sure a lot of people will do it.

wouldn't you have 6.7 million of budget left?
51.3 + 2.0 ---------- 53.3
60.0 - 53.3 ----------- 6.7
can someone clear this up

never apologize nor hesitate to correct/point out any mistakes you see on the site. However, if you are wrong, and we are right, we do reserve the right to mock you about it forever. But don't let that stop you...(for real - don't let that stop you. Being wrong about something being wrong is better than saying nothing and leaving something wrong)

Is there a deadline for when this has to be done?

Is there a deadline for when this has to be done? since its optional, no. But if you plan on trading money, signing with bonuses, and all that other stuff, then you have to do it for consideration. For instance, if a guy wants you to give him a car for him to waive his NTC, the info must be posted before the trade can be accepted.
