Volume 5: Bob Log III
That’s right, Bob Log III is proof that music will never die. Along with the likes of creative masterminds Les Claypool and his pig mask and wide variety of sounds and live stage performances, not to mention Buckethead’s entire persona, Bob Log III is revolutionizing the underground music scene.
For those of you who have no idea who I’m talking about, here’s some wikifacts for you.
Bob Log III is an American lo-fi punk blues musician, singer and songwriter who performs as a one man band. During performances, Log wears a blue full-body jumpsuit and a bubble-mask motorcycle helmet wired with a telephone microphone which allows him to devote his hands and feet to guitar and drums, respectively. Based in Tucson, Arizona, he has made frequent tours of North America, Europe, Japan and Australia.
Once his drummer quit the band after touring for six years, Bob’s response was “At the time, my only option was to go home and shut up, or learn a new way of playing guitar. I was on my way to Chicago, and I'd just bought a helmet at a thrift store in Lawrence, Kan., and I though, (sic) 'I'll put on that helmet and kick my guitar case and see what happens.'”
His main song, which actually describes his method of performance, is titled “One Man Band Boom”, in which he introduces his band.
“Bob Log the third, one-man band, Tucson, Arizona. Heyeeeh! Lemme introduce the band to ya. On cymbals, left foot. Over here on the bass drum we got right foot. Shut up! This is my left hand that does all the slide work, right hand does the pickin'. My mouth hole does most o' the talkin'. And you're looking at my finger.”
He constantly demands people from the audience join in on his act, even having women dancing on his lap to the song “I Want You To Shit On My Lap”, while others have begun to strip on stage for him. Sounds hot right? This is what I mean by stripping…
Bob Log the third should more than spark your interest. Here’s a video of that great “shit on my lap” song, and proof that he truly is revolutionizing the term “one man band”.

Until next time… shit on my lap my friends, shit on my lap.
