The Site
- Due to the nature of the way the new site is being run, a new site is being built. It will take time, but needs to be done.
- new site will be structured as essentially invite-only, and new people will need approved to avoid idiots and spammers.
The Game
- simming will be done with an anonymous game, on an anonymous platform. This increases realism, and forces you to trade and build your teams based on current performance, and estimated potential, rather than arbitrarily assigned numbers.
The League
- League will have a salary cap, NTCs, and contracts.
- League will consist of 12 teams (to do what I want to do, this cannot be changed. )
- all trades are will essentially be finalized once both teams accept. Just for administrative purposes, I'll still finalize them, but unless there's some problem in the game or something, no trades will be rejected.
-
The Teams
- this part is up to you. Original idea was to allow everyone to choose or make their own team (so Toronto Maple Leafs, Hamilson Coyotes - whatever people wanted for their own team). We can stick to JUST NHL teams if you guys prefer it.
The Simming and Season
- season will have 50 games, and I'll probably get stats on an in-game monthly basis, and I won't know how frequently they will be posted. I might try weekly, but may have to go with once every 2 weeks due to life. We will see how it goes. But it WILL BE CONSISTENT!
- I don;t think it will be an issue, but to do what I wanted to do, the points system for wins, losses, OTL, etc might be a bit different than real NHL, but it won't make a huge difference in the end. Its just a heads up
The Beginning
- to start, you sign up, you submit your team name.
- After we're full, we'll do the fantasy draft to open everything up. Probably do a random draw to get the order.
- you can draft anyone in the NHL (or technically AHL, as long as they are at least kind of affiliated with an NHL team)
- you'll submit your roster with a proposed contract for each player in order to get a base salary/contract duration to start out with. It will be quick with not that much negotiating.
- We'll set everything up, have a very brief off-season, and then get 'er going.
The End
- at the end of each season, we'll have a draft. Everyone in the NHL but not currently in our league will be eligible.
- brief renewal and FA time
- brief trade time
- start back up for next season.

ALL OF THE BELOW IS OPEN FOR DISCUSSION.
