Obviously there's some major confusion going on.
I'll explain:
Last year, the first overall player was initially rated an 84 or 85. Then you added your secondary picks to that player and I believe the 30th overall player was still in the 80s.
Almost everyone drafted a player on average of an 88 or 89.
This year, instead of the top pick being initially an 84, he'll be a 79. You can still add picks to the player hence:
1st overall pick = 79
2nd rounder = 3 points = 82
3rd rounder = 2 points = 84
4th and 5th = 2 points = 86
It drops the high ratings of players by about 2 to 4 stat points, but if the player is drafted low, he'll likely go up in year to year fluxuation due to progress as long as he performs.
Performance alterations are depended on the following:
point production
+/- levels
shooting percentage
etc.
He could climb quickly, he could progress slowly, or he could stay the same and be a solid second to third line player for his entire career.
You've all asked for the most realistic site on the net, and we're still providing it. This is more realistic and draft picks are still an integral part of the site.
If this doesn't make sense to you, go stab yourself in the eyes.
