Toskala was dealt earlier today to the Canadiens but was rejected by the league on lack of effort by the Canadiens in the deal. The deal included Kostopulos, Mason and a 2nd for Toskala but was claimed to not be enough for the starter. The Leafs were hoping he'd get back on to re-work the deal quickly, but it seems the deal will have to go down after the playoffs if at all.
Malkin has two front runners, one believed to be the Blackhawks and the other the Avalanche. Rumored players are Toews, Seabrook from Chicago's end, while Smyth Leopold and a 1st has been tossed out from Colorado, the kicker being a defensemen in return. The requested D was Letang, but the Penguins are reluctant to add him to the mix.
