I want this to be an intelligent and civil thread.

In case you have not noticed I am interseted in politics and an avid Obama supporter.


I want you to do this political map....(it takes less than a minute) and post your Electoral turnout.

Don't be offended with what I say, it's just sort of a prediction on my bahalf.

We're looking at a new movement here. We have a celebrity in Obama, a black man with lots of character and charm, and we have McCain who is a war veteran and has a running mate who could potentially be the first woman Vice-President. Things that were unheard of just 30 years ago.

In my opinion, Barack has already won the election and it hasn't really even begun. But I do think one of two things will happen over the next 4 years.

1. A terrorist attack will occur almost immediately, as they will see what the new president is willing to do and challenges the ethics of America.

2. I truly believe Barack Obama will be assassinated. There's too many racial groups that are still lingering around in strong form in Southern U.S. that will stand by and watch an african american run arguablly the strongest nation in the world... other than Canada

So, I know I'll get some comments back on my predictions, and I should clarify that in no way do I WANT any of these things to happen, it's just sort of what I'm expecting. As much as we live in North America - the world of social order... to a degree, there's still a lot of chaos going on in our own back yards. And politics seem to front the line.

With regards to #1 I don't really have anything to say.

#2. I see what you mean here but I would love to think that the American people are open-minded and intelligent people that are tolerant of others. I know that is not the case for some. This would be a tragic incident that not only would throw this nation into chaos but also be horrible for his family, which includes his 10 year old daughter and the 6 year old

Okay, Mike's terrorist theory is dum as hell, so I will ignore that. But Obama probably will be assassinated, and it may not even just be because he is black - but because he is about change. And a lot of Americans fear change. Especially right-wing Christian Right groups, who routinely bomb abortion clinics because "killing is wrong".

Barack Obama is CLEARLY the man to lead the country in a new, and better direction. I just hope to hell that the country is ready for it, and willing to embrace it. The United States does NOT need George III in there with the McCain-Palin cluster-fuck.
