Breaking with tradition, I am going to allow comments on this trade. But only cause its leafs and giving him a hard time is what makes me life worth living.

I'm fine with comments. My initial offer to him he pondered, but he wanted a right winger more than he wanted Clowe, so the deal turned into this as per Caps request.

Also, Capitals struggled last season, and so did Ovechkin. This deal essentially plugs the holes Caps feels he has with youth plus he gets picks.

Washington (and Ovechkin) struggled because the Capitals were one of only 2 teams to not bother signing ANY coaches, despite being told over and over again they made A BIG difference in play.

With the picks, I think its a FAIR trade, but having been in 12002 sim leagues, I know people pay A LOT for Ovechkin. And i get qwitchy when the GM moving an superstar only has 5 posts in 2 months. I certainly have no doubts about Leafs integrity here, tho.
I also wanna mention Mke has been in about 100 sim leagues and has never had Ovechkin, so...yeah.... Its not like other people (QUINN!) who scam everyone to build winners.

well Ovechkin was still their leading scorer and got 37G which i think only 2 players scored more. I don't think this trade helps Washington at all. I actually think it really hurts his team a lot. Ovechkin actually scored like 20 more points than those 3 combined. Its his team I guess.
