Newly re-signed playmaking forward Clarke MacArthur has been making the rounds. According to several sources (teams, mostly) the Leafs were actively shopping the forward until his eventual extension, but it seems the story still isn't concluded.
"Someone told me they tried to ink me for less for another team to take me in a deal with a prospect," said MacArthur. "One person mentioned Montreal, but if you ask you'll never get a response from him."
MacArthur's contract has been a big question mark since his one-year, 1.1M dollar steal, but now that he has a NMC, he can make his own decision.
"Well, technically Toronto has until the start of the free agency period," said one source who confirmed the rumour. "But it's all a matter of how much class the organization has. I can tell you this, if they do trade him, you can bet it will affect their free agency acquisitions."
