If anything can describe what ManNHL has been since it's two-year layoff, it's busy. With extensions flying around at every corner, negotiations have not been short and fans are certainly interested to see what their teams are up to. With contenders rebuilding, and rebuilders looking to contend, the league has certainly taken a massive swing in a new direction. After a few deals, the New York Rangers found themselves admiring a few new faces. General Manager Starsfan1 understood that losing cap and staying young was his team's priority. The most significant deal to date by the club was a deal they struck with the Philadelphia Flyers. In that trade, the Rangers moved out the on-again off-again talent of Wojtek Wolski and defensive dynamo Mark Staal for pest Daniel Carcillo, impressive stay-at-home defenceman Brayden Coburn, and promising sniper James van Riemsdyk. Some fans were left worried about the loss of Mark Staal, but Starsfan1 remains confident in the decision. "James can play a top line role when needed," said the Rangers general manager, "but the second line winger role is what we feel is best suited for him." Good read. Thought Colorado shaking off their dumb-ass move with letting Anderson go to Ottawa for perma-backup Elliot, and acquiring Lehtonen from Dallas to fill the void between the pipes may have made the article, but maybe next time.
Good job!
