What if you don't mind Belfour but don't like the contract.

What if you don't mind Belfour but don't like the contract. That was not an option. This poll is simple, and to the point. No gray area allowed.

I like Belfour, the contract is a little excessive. I said something else twice. As much as I love Belfour, I knew 5 years 5 M is too big .

Voted 'no'. I have no problem with it being Belfour. Just think the contract is foolish. Guess if the GM is up for it, so be it. Can only benefit me somehow, $5M on Florida for 5 years, maybe not enough room for Kulikov in the future..

Minus a vote on NO and make it a YES.
My bad. Didn't read it properly.

Don't reverse it, contracts don't get much more realistic than that. 5 years, $25 mil for a guy who hasn't played in the NHL in years and will be 51 when the deal ends. Looks all good to me. /end sarcasm

I don't. Everyone else was mad, and I am all about the democracy, so let the league decide. Doesn't matter to me in the end if Belfour is here or not.

It is guaranteed money for Belfour. Florida get a goalie that he will end up having to use a backup for 5 years for 5mil per season. Will be nice as he losses all his young guys to FA becuase he has no money LOL

in some sense this is like the Kovalchuk signing except 11 of you are siding with the "NHL" and six of us are siding with the NHLPA. I sorta get why the NHLPA sided with Kovalchuk now. But why would you guys vote against it ?you guys aren't spending a single penny on him. If belf wants to sign Belfour to this contract let him do it It's his choice. I'd get pretty ticked if I signed Daniel Sedin to a 8 year 6 M contract and you guys rejected it we don't have a NHL / NHLPHA system here so really this shouldn't be an issue belf wanted to sign him and did end of the story whats with the commotion

Leave the signing the way it is. It screws over FLA long term. Lets just LEARN from it and move on.
