Alright, so there's one minor error that will be repaired for the rest of this season and then next season you won't have to worry about. Essentially, it comes down to this:
AFTER this season, teams will have a maximum roster of 40 players. This roster MUST include 3 goaltenders. So you can have up to 37 skaters under contract.
FOR NEXT SEASON:
Each DIVISION will have a minor team. The start of each player's name will be OTT or BOS or whatever to show which team said player belongs to. These players CAN and WILL develop in the minors as all minor league players for each team will have a divisional team. For instance the NORTHEAST MINORS. Each divisional minor league team will play a full season in the minors, which will be auto-simmed. So your minor league players WILL have points.
BEGINNING NOW:
At the start of each season (and now) teams must have the following for their professional rosters:
12 FORWARDS
1 SPARE FORWARD
6 DEFENCEMEN
1 SPARE DEFENCEMAN
3 GOALTENDERS
IN TOTAL: 20 SKATERS AND 3 GOALTENDERS.
You CAN go over, but by no more than 1 extra player, or a total of 21 skaters.
Teams will now post all PLAYERS THAT WILL BE DEMOTED TO THEIR MINOR TEAM so they will not be playing anymore games this season.
Since most injuries occur to goaltenders in this league, I've been clicking "auto-correct" for rosters, which is the equivalent to best lines, unfortunately at times this kicks out a star player or a third line player for a player that should be in the minors. Creating these minor league teams and adjusting the rosters accordingly will correct this issue while still allowing you to develop your talent.
NOTE: IF THERE ARE A TON OF PLAYERS IN ANY GIVEN DIVISION THAT WILL BE PLAYING IN THE MINORS, I WILL CREATE A SECOND TEAM FOR THAT DIVISION SO THAT AT LEAST 90% OF THE PLAYERS IN THE MINORS WILL SEE ACTION TO CONTINUE THEIR DEVELOPMENT.
This upcoming off-season, teams MUST cut down their total owned contracts to 37 skaters and 3 goaltenders. If you wish to have a 4th goaltender, you must deduct one skater, thus having 36 skaters and 4 goaltenders.
Any questions, please ask here.
I know we already created a thread on the minors, but now that your team has seen over a month of action, you can revise your rosters and such WHILE FOLLOWING THE RULES OF THE SITE, and POST YOUR MINOR LEAGUE PLAYERS IN THIS THREAD.
Thanks for reading. This is the best thing I can do to fix all concerns and issues.
