I thought it over last night, and as much as I want to make this league "realistic", this won't be standing. The decision by Alfredsson to quit takes the fun out of this being a sim site where people can enjoy themselves. Florida, a depleted team, gets fucked out of a fair trade to try and benefit his team. Alfredsson had no NTC or NMC and all of a sudden the PR makes a decision on behalf of "Alfy" to leave becuase he doesn't want to play for that team. Give me a break.
The Senators just told me he's decided to sell the team to the KHL (since there's no binding agreement between the two leagues) so ManNHL has no choice but to allow the decision to be made. The team, logo, and roster is paid for and owned by "daddoo", the owner of the Senators, so he can do as he pleases.
Hate that? Yeah, it's the same thing as Alfredsson quitting because he didn't wanna play for Florida. Ottawa is quitting because the PR made quite the bullshit move.
This isn't a publicity stunt. This is me telling you all that one of a few things are going to happen. If none of this happens, Ottawa will quit, and I will terminate the league.
1. Alfredsson will make a decision to play for Florida, and can in fact request a trade if necessary from that franchise.
2. A KHL player of the same overall will be auto-signed to Florida for the same wages as Alfredsson with 1 year left on his contract, and will be considered an RFA at the end of his term.
3. Alfredsson will be moved onto his roster regardless.
I'm not about screwing teams over. There was no intention of doing so. I will even give him back Esposito and one of his firsts if need be.
This is my decision, just as it was Justin's decision to have Alfy walk. This is a sim site. This is supposed to be fun, and the PR took it too far this time. He's taken the fun out of wanting talent, since if you don't have a stacked team, that talent won't play for you.
Not very fair by my standards.
Mike

Very good decision, but why would you shut the league down because Ottawa wants to quit?

It's not because of Ottawa, it's because of the principal of the event.

I know you probably think I said it because of the other night, but I would have asked the same question if it were anyone else.

I actually didn't take it that way, it was a valid question based on how I set up the sentence. I don't have a grudge against you.

Very good desicion on your part.
Alfredsson is a well respected member of the Sens and should STAY there. Hes been there all his career and you all should respect that, as due Sakic.

So FLA possibly could get alfy 89overall and another player from the KHL the same overall?

Boston, that isn't the point. Alfredsson shouldn't be allowed to just quit.

that is a matter of opinion, but if the real senators felt that way they would've gave him a ntc during his contract. alfredsson was dealt fair and square, if he walks, so be it, florida will be compensated.

Here's the deal. Alfredson TOLD Ottawa (LEAFS DADDY) that he wanted to stay there. if this was anyone BUT leafs daddy, this would not be happening. The TRADE that caused all this would be undone, or Alfy would quit. So here's what it has come to: 1) The trade gets undone due to unethical behaviour on Ottawas part (since he knew alfy was not willing to play elsewhere and was explicitly told this AND decided to trade him anyways,
2) Alfredsson leaves. NO auto-compensation will be given, cause that is bullshit.
3. PR leaves.
I have had enough of this shit, so THAT, Leafs, is where it stands. No joke. No power trip. I am just sick of the "he is MY daddy, so he can fuck whoever he wants" bullshit, so there you have it.

Lets settle this by just undoing the trade.

I agree with undoing it. Also, I want to add that Leafs was 100% on board with this last night, and in essence, gave it the go-ahead PRIOR to my announcement.

Here's why I don't give a fuck about your ultimatum. 1. The Senators had all the rights in the world to trade him. 2. He was considering waiving to go to Phoenix and the Sens decided to offer him an extention. 3. Upon the offer, the Sens did not receive a reply because the PR deleted all the messages. 4. After 2 weeks without an answer, the Sens requested a decision, the PR requested for the offer again. 5. Sens decided to trade him after learning he had no NTC (he was not told he would only play for the Sens, etc. as listed above.) 6. The deal was valid and fair, hell even Joe Thornton was traded from the Sharks in this league, not to mention Crosby leaving Pittsburgh, so if Alfy goes, he goes, whatever.
This is not the Senators fault, and I find it very ignorant of you to claim it's because he's my father. Fact is, YOU made the decision to remove him from the league, so the blame is in your hands, and not in the trade that occurred.

Again, Florida WANTED alfy, Senators wanted to TRADE alfy, the trade was valid and Alfy walks. It's Alfy's fault.

He was considering waiving to go to Phoenix and the Sens decided to offer him an extention. No he was not. 3. Upon the offer, the Sens did not receive a reply because the PR deleted all the messages. Yeah, and the league was notified of this and I said "If anyone has not revcieved a reply to a pending offer, re-send it". 4. After 2 weeks without an answer, the Sens requested a decision, the PR requested for the offer again. See above. If your dad doesn;t listen to site announcements, his fault not mine. He is the only one having trouble.5. Sens decided to trade him after learning he had no NTC (he was not told he would only play for the Sens, etc. as listed above.) He said he wanted to play for the sens. Enough said... And you (Mike) Knew all along that franchise players like Lidstrom, Sakic, etc. would not be moving basically. 6. The deal was valid and fair, hell even Joe Thornton was traded from the Sharks in this league, not to mention Crosby leaving Pittsburgh, so if Alfy goes, he goes, whatever. Alfredson is old and wants to retire where he began....Your point here makes NO sense...This is not the Senators fault, and I find it very ignorant of you to claim it's because he's my father. Nope, its actually the truth. Anyone else you KNOW would not have got away with half the shitFact is, YOU made the decision to remove him from the league, so the blame is in your hands, and not in the trade that occurred. I did. And last night you said "Alright"Then I posted the announcement.

I agree with undoing the deal, because we don't want PR to leave and we don't want to rip off Florida!
