Just though it would be fun if we started a thread remembering quite possibly the most random players ever to play in the NHL. Or, even just guys that we miss, and ended up in random post-NHL jobs.

Chad Kilger spent 13 seasons in the NHL, and after not wanting to report to the Panthers was first granted a leave of absense, and finally he was just fired. Did not play hockey after the 2008 season. Kilger originally had the hardest shot in the NHL as he broke the record back in 2006. Kilger is now a firefighter in Cornwall, Ontario because his dad is the mayor and give him the job.

Broke into the league with the Capitals. Went on a sick winning streak. Won the Vezina in his 2nd year. The 2 years later was traded to the Bruins and was out of hockey pretty much a year later Now works at a medical billing company in Florida. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Carey_(ice_hockey)

Jeff O'Neill played in 11 NHL seasons, scoring 496 points in 821 games. In just 2-season and 148 games with the leafs, O'Neill scored 39 goals and 80 points. O'Neill broke out as one of the top point producers in 2006-07 playing along side Alex Steen and Mats Sundin, but cooled off towards the end of the season. Retired in 2008 after a tryout with the Carolina Hurricanes, he was 32 at the time. It was later revealed that O'Neill retired due to his fear of flying.

He tried out for the Leafs and didn't make it a few years ago.
Before, he got offered a contract, but wanted more money or something along those lines, might have been term.

One of Chad's wifes parents were sick, so Chad didn't want to leave. He took the leave for the rest of the season. He was never fired, his contract ran out.

If he could drive and make it there, he drove.

Jason Allison spent 9 seasons in the NHL, including a short stint where he was captain of the Boston Bruins. During the 2005-06 season, Allison turned out to be almost a point-per-game player for the leafs after he scored 60 pts (17g 43a) in 66 games. Allison was not offered a contract the following season as Leafs head coach Paul Maurice and GM John Shitheadleafruiner Ferguson felt he did not meet the new direction of the new young Leafs team (He was 30 at the time), and that his poor skating abilities did not match the team. On August 28, 2009, Allison signed a tryout contract with the Leafs. He fought Philadelphia Flyers' Darroll Powe, and ripped his helmet in half, but it was not enough as headcoach Ron Wilson announced on September 28th that Allison was "out of the plans." Allison now owns a horse farm north of Toronto.

^Yeah I thought he'd do it this year and got him in my two fantasy pools but he dissapointed. I think it might be the team's fault though. Maybe Gustavvson for Mason?

Gustavsson will hit free agency, and unless Columbus is desperate to dump Mason, which I do not think they are, this trade wont happen. and that is ignoring the fact Toronto does not want another shaky goaltender, they likely will go after a veteran (unless they pull a BS Burke trade and steal a starter, lol).
