Dallas Stars get:
C-Chris Drury 4.65M UFA 2017
Minnesota Wild get:
Chris Stewart RW 6.750 UFA 2019
Kinda sucks to trade Chris Stewart cuz he led my team in points the past couple seasons. Don't know what happened to him this season after getting 40 something goals last year. Hopefully Drury plays better than the last time I had him lol

Accepted on behalf of Wild. Drury had a good year, but now he's getting older and this will be a trade that will benefit Minnesota long-term.

Post Points
Chris Drury 31 40 71
Chris Stewart 8 19 27
Minnesota is in a playoff spot and trading away their leading goal-scorer/point producer makes NO SENSE AT ALL.
I would reject the living shit out of this trade as strongly as I have rejected anything ever.
"we've got a shot at the Cup, but let's worry more about our future and trade the league's best player for an under-producing, overpaid mid-liner." For Minny, this is beyond absurd!!!

I looked at it as Drury having one decent season and otherwise being terrible, Stewart has been good and is having an off year, and Drury is nearing retirement. Yes, he's leading the league, but Stewart may be able to do the same thing in that position - playing top minutes, instead of second line.

Yeah, but no matter who you are, that's not a gamble you take with a league leading scorer going into the playoffs. Maybe any other time it makes sense, but the timing on this made it brutal.

Yes, and that's a fair assessment.
