Lindros, despite waiving his no trade clause last week, has decided not to waive it this week. He understands he sits on thin ice with the management in Tampa, but his agent was quoted saying “If you want to get rid of him, you’ll have to buy him out. He’s got a house on the beach, whatayagunna do?” Surprisingly, his father has not yet spoken about the situation…
In other news, in light of the Leafs bringing back 33 year old Adam Deadmarsh last season, many teams are trying (and have tried) to bring back veteran players for a last gimmicky-type go around, or toss the old hooker if I may. Names mentioned are the likes of Pavel Bure with two destroyed knees, Dave Andreychuk who still can’t skate very well but can wear a C, John Leclair who was waived twice before being sent to the minors and eventually released by the club, and even goaltender Darryn Puppa… once known as King. A rumor of Doug Gilmour returning to the ice was quickly crushed when the Maple Leafs got wind of it and was quoted for saying that “Gilmour is still under contract with [the Leafs] as the assistant manager and unless the team approaches [the Leafs] in discussing options with him, it will be considered tampering. As far as [the Leafs] are concerned, he is happy where he is.”
Upon considering a return is female goaltender Manon Rheaume who is considering one last shot at joining a team in the backup position. Although the idea is unlikely, she remains persistent and is training regularly to have one last shot. She also is looking to set a record seemingly unbreakable by being the first woman to win a cup with an NHL franchise. The rumored deal she is believed working out with a Western team has her guaranteed playing time of at least 15 games, or quite possibly, 15 losses.
On another return front, Jesus’ return is imminent.
There is also word that there is another franchise in the league that is run by a woman. No longer does Carolina stand alone in that situation, and no longer will last year’s Conference final appearance hold the glory of one taco among a field of hot dogs. But who could the second franchise be?
Despite rumors, Montreal will not be losing their team to the league. Get over it people. He’s not leaving. He’s been here from the start and has been a cornerstone franchise in starting shit and even resolving some of that shit on occasion. A respectful decision on behalf of the PR and Admin to kep him around while he works out his situation.
Also, the PR is not on drugs, but is known to try some angel dust in the mornings. Consider it his coffee.
Again, the Leafs were not born a woman. I was looking for some information to the second taco, but it’s not the Leafs.
Steve Sullivan’s signing has hit a snag as the veteran has not agreed to the new contract. Look for that to be played out either by more money going his way, or a trade elsewhere.
Take care folks.
