Yes, I know that the title says this week is only 4 days. Its cause on Friday (The 18th), I'm leaving for 2 weeks.
Anyways, On topic now - this weeks random topic is... NHL09 features. So, away we go! I've been reading the EA NHL forums lately, and have some looks/reads what will be included in NHL09. So by now, we all know (i think) - Be A Pro mode. In this you create a player, and start your career from the AHL to one of the NHL elite. From what I know at this point, is you get to select what team you play for, and then you start on the third line of the AHL affiliate. Next - You can take your 'BAP' player ONLINE and develop him there, as well. Online will finally contain full-out 6 on 6 hockey. There will be also be some sick One-Handed dekes. You will now be able to walk around defenders and goalies much easier. Plus, there will be the brand new defensive skill-stick. Take away your opponents passing lanes, lift there stick before they get that one-timer pass. But on the downside, you could end up hi-sticking the guy and ending up being down a man, so be careful.
Anyways, thats all I have for this week folks. League news will be posted on THURSDAY, JULY 17th.

No, be a pro is basically a single-player mode, but you are able to take him online, and play as just him. And yes it has been confirmed for PS2.
Consoles are: XB360, PS3, PC, PS2
