In light of what has happened with the Rangers over the last little while, this will determine if the punishment was valid. This has NOTHING to do with my trade with the Stars (which has now be put in pending and locked until this is sorted out). I've notified the Stars.

We have a 3 strike system here. The Rangers are hovering near the top after his stupid antics. Here is why the punishment is justified in my opinion.

1. Rangers dealt his first in 2010 to Vancouver 3 months ago.
2. Rangers dealt his first in 2010 two weeks ago to Dallas.
3. Rangers was informed of the incident and did not contact the Stars for compensation.
4. Rangers was notified and commented on the thread and still did not contact or mention any compensation or resolution.
5. 4 days went by with the Rangers STILL not commenting on it.
6. I posted that the pick would have been top 10 due to the Rangers lack of defense core and thus Kane was a top 10 pick and would be compensation.
7. Days go by without the Rangers commenting.
8. I wrote this is finalized, compensation is Evander Kane C 81.
9. I altered the Rangers roster and the Stars roster for the move.
10. The Rangers tries to deal a player under a contract he DIDN'T sign. The Rangers has done this multiple times and has yet to get away with it.

I gave him time, he didn't try to resolve it, I had to step in as commissioner to fix the problem. He was notified 3 times and did not say anything. He then tried to fake players contracts and positions.

I was tired of his antics and felt that a good shake-up on his cheating was to punish him correctly - he traded a top 10 pick he didn't have, he lost a top 10 pick he did have.

84 Brad Boyes $4 Mill (UFA after 12/13)
80 Boyd Gordon $1 Mill (RFA after 10/11)
Lauri Korpikoski 78 $900k (UFA after 11/12)
2010 1st Round pick (NYR)

To New York:

83 Steve Downie - $0.875 (RFA 2011)
81 Greg De Vries - $2.125 (UFA 2014)
2011 1st Round pick (DAL)
2011 2nd round pick (DAL)
2011 2nd Round pick (OTT)

So the 1st in 10 would become Evander Kane C 81

That would mean:

Boyes 84, Gordon 80, Korpikoski 78, Kane 81
FOR
Downie 83, DeVries 81, 1st 2011, 2nd 2011, 2nd 2011

YOUR TASK:

Vote if you feel the compensation is valid (Kane instead of the pick) or all deals reversed. Those are your ONLY options in this vote.

To elaborate, I thought that NYR had plenty of time to fix this or contact Stars about it, instead he tried to get away with it or something like that. I was saying fair if you understood my baseball talk.

Nothing wrong with what happened at all. The compensation was fair, Toronto paid a fair and hefty price to re-acquire Kane from Dallas, and in my opinion, this issue should have been dead long ago.

I do however believe we should really consider NYR's future here in ManNHL. He's been pulling this shit for a while, and honestly, I don't think an apology is enough here. I know much stronger GMs we have on our waiting list currently, and as your GM Rep, I truly feel that we should really be questioning NYR here, not Toronto, who seriously, did NOTHING wrong.

NYR is putting a black eye on what is otherwise an unbelievably good GM crop. Kick him before we have another situation like this.

ill allow justin to have the final say on either a vip vote on the rangers removal from the site, or follow the proper 3 strike policy. if others feel his antics are too borderline cheating and such, we may have to issue a more strict policy on him for the situations.

It's not my place to vote on fairness of trades. Conflict of interest. All things considered, and biases aside, no one can deny the fact that Leafs is nothing but fair overall in this league. I still won't concede my previous comment that it looks suspicious as hell, but I know Mike, and realistically, odds are this was not on his mind when he set the compensation. Even if it was, if everyone thinks his trade with Dallas was fair, then we really don't have a problem here at all and this issue is RESOLVED.

Alright ill lets this one pass. Leafs, you won. But note: if kane is compensation i think he should be given a NTC, because its kinda unfair for Kane to be dealt just like that.

Alright, we've hit 8 votes for. Compensation stands. We will go by our regular procedure of 3 strike system. Rangers currently has 2, and he's told me several times via pm that he will try to do his best from here on out.
