The reason I've been really busy lately is because I've been looking into 1001 things we can do with this league, given my insane-as-hell schedule, and other time commitments (being a father and such). I do have a couple other iffy options, but one that I've been thinking about, and looking further into if there is interest, is something drastically different, designed to be built on a small community of very dedicated, awesome people. And everyone that can read this should be either a GM rep or a VIP , as such, you would be my core group - maybe a couple others. Leave any and all honest feedback, as its a work in progress (unless you hate it - then there'd be no more progress on thsi idea and we would go with something else, obviously, Anyway, here's the basic idea-in-progress:
- depending on interest, we could do an original 6 league with modern talent, or have about 10 teams/GMs and go with that. As I said, I'd be looking to make a really small, unique community of basically ManNHL's best of the best.
- when you sign up, you create your team (name, location, etc.) - unless people were interested int he original 6 - then we'd have original 6... -catch is, only 6 GMs, which I think we could probably
- once we;ve done that, we fantasy draft - this gives everyone a pretty cool team of stars, and as such, I would THINK (could be wrong) that it should create a pretty level league for talent, and that there should be a lot of trade opportunities
- season's would be short as hell - probably something to the effect of a round robin, then the following tournament would be the playoffs, meaning quick league, lots of seasons, lots of winners, hopefully lots of trades, etc.
- probably still have 1-2 rounds of draft, bringing in the best players who haven;t been drafted in the original draft, and stuff...
and so on...
So yeah, leave ANY thoughts, opinions, etc. here. If a number of you are interested, we can move forward with it, if not, we can still look into some other things. Of all the options, this was the one that got me the most excited (esp the original 6 part), but figured I'd present it to you fine folks for a once-over.
Remember, ANY thoughts - if you fucking hate it, say so. Any suggestions or changes to basic premise, say so.
Cheerio, and thanks again for your loyalty. I say it to death, but I mean it. Given the unexpected nature of Mikey's departure, your patience has been awesome.
