I'm hearing that Columbus Gm is shopping youngster center Gilbert Brule and veteran winger David Vyborny. I speculate that they are looking for a top Rw to play alongside superstar Rick Nash and veteran Sergei Fedorov. Stay tuned, that may not be all from the Jackets, as I hear that they are unhappy with their defence.

From the Swamp, veteran Danius Zubrus has asked to be traded (e3) because he is unhappy with the way the team is heading. Zubrus is fresh off signing a 6 year contract with the Devils in the offseason.

Update from the team who is believed to be the centre of the universe: Toronto.

The Leafs are believed to award their assistant captaincies to Darcy Tucker and Robyn Regehr, and after the recent movements of all players under NTC, Mats Sundin does not fear he will be moved. He spoke to the media this morning and told them:

"I have full control over my contract, but if there's something that does come up, we it will be discussed, but I feel the same way as I have the last few years, and I expect a big season from this club this year, regardless of who was moved out. We have a strong, young group this time around, and I look forward to being a part of the cup run. I have no interest in leaving this city and this organization to play anywhere else."

It's no surprise the captain has been approached by the media after the flurry of trades in Leaf land. I wouldn't be surprised if Toronto continues with the onslaught of trades resulting in them moving JFJ's old core for more youth.
