First off, I'd like to mention some things I've heard from the player agents. Derian Hatcher and Jeff Friesen are both contemplating retirement.
"The offers just haven't been there. I'm getting up there in age and I guess teams don't believe I can preform at the level I used to." Jeff (Friesen) said. (e3). If he doesn't get any quality offers soon, Jeff's name might add his name to a list of guys who went out in a way they wish they hadn't.
Also, the Islanders and Sharks have been having some serious conversations. Rookies, Prospects and veterans are all involved in the mix. I would list this at an (e2) as of now but it is only going to grow in strength until a deal is struck.
The Buffalo Sabres are looking to move both Alexei Yashin and Ivan Majesky, though No Trade Clauses may be an issue. Both say they like the city of Buffalo and have allready moved their families there. They both think highly of the team and believe that they can go all the way. I heard from a very good source that they will not move and will list this as an (e4).
The Calgary Flames are also shopping winger Alex Tanguay. It is said that they arn't looking to sell him for prospects, but looking to trade him for a similar winger. I'd list this as an (e3).
The Toronto Maple Leafs have interest in Rangers centre Alexei Cherepanov. He might be part of the plans in the future for the Leafs and their youth movement, so I'd list this as an (e2).
Thanks for listening all, - Eklund Man NHL's Anonymous Hockey Rumor Expert.

Late Night Update:
Canadiens General Manager is currently unhappy with the team and is talking to several teams. The list includes the New York Islanders, Calgary Flames, Columbus Blue Jackets, New Jersey Devils, Carolina Hurricanes, Buffalo Sabres and others. Expect them to move several pieces of their puzzle as they are unhappy with their current situation. More as I hear it. This is a strong (e4).

Update from LaLaLand.
A certain General Manager has asked if Ryan Smyth would waive his NTC to go to their team. Speculation has Carolina, Boston, New York Rangers all leading the way for Ryan, each offering up a respected centre in exchage for the Left Winger.
Also, Buffalo may not be done offering up contracts to unsigned players. They currently have plenty of money to spend and are willing to do so, as shown by the Roman Cechmanek signing. Will the Ivan Majesky turn off some potential stars from signing in Buffalo? I don't even know the answer to that, but we'll find out soon enough.
After reporting that Jeff Friesen was contemplating retirement, he has received more than one offer to sign with an NHL team. Frontrunners seem to be teams with young cores such as Toronto, Montreal and Philadelphia.
New front office boss of the St. Louis Blues has started drawing up offers to re-sign potential free agents currently signed for one more year. No names or numbers have been released as of yet. More to come either tonight or tomorrow, depending on how I feel, or better known as the Eklund Factor... "Do I really feel like reporting this today or tomorrow?"

Actually, I may not be shopping Tanguay after all... He's been preforming... we'll see.
