We're bringing in 2 new features. One will piss off some of you, the other should be loved by all.
Feature/Update #1 - Staff
I've noticed that only one actual staff member actually does anything, so we've completely erased all staff positions, and you will be required to re-apply if you previously had one (sorry to the one staff member who was doing his job - he knows who he is).
The UPDATE that will piss everyone off, has two parts.
1. First, all staff will be required to submit a report of whats going on in their area of coverage at least once every 2 weeks. Since these require fairly little work if you are actually doing your "job", it shouldn't be a big deal at all. If you end up being awarded a column, you must post a new article at least once a week.
2. The big one, from this point forward (at least for now), ONLY staff are allowed to accept/reject trades. For now, this is ONLY staff, but might eventually be expanded a little bit to VIPs or Hall of Famers - but don;t count on that for now.
RIGHT NOW THE ONLY PEOPLE ABLE TO VOTE ON TRADES ARE THERE PEOPLE: mannhl.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=staff&action=display&thread=1256
Reminder, this is a trial-based idea, and might be subject to change. Apply for jobs here if you wanna vote on trades.
Feature/Update #2 - Cap Growth
This one I think is cool, and if you like the league, and are around a lot, it will be nothing but good news.
For next season we've decided instead of arbitrarily raising or lowering the cap, we'll adjust it based on activity on the site for that season. Like the real NHL, if there's a lot of activity, and thus "revenue", then there is room for everyone's cap to rise. Similarly, if the site is a wasteland all year, and nothing's happening, the cap might go down, as "revenue" dwindles.
Direct all backlash and feedback to PR.
Cheerio, and enjoy
