Eklund says:
i like the site a lot
Eklund says:
yes
Eklund says:
very
Mikey - If you call, I will answer... - around, packing, leaver - says:
good stuff
Mikey - If you call, I will answer... - around, packing, leaver - says:
so what rumors do you have?
Eklund says:
i havve to go to bed can we interview now
Eklund says:
kk
Mikey - If you call, I will answer... - around, packing, leaver - says:
if they were started by the PR they’re likely true whether i like it or not lol
Mikey - If you call, I will answer... - around, packing, leaver - says:
yes
Eklund says:
pr runs the site?
Mikey - If you call, I will answer... - around, packing, leaver - says:
no, it’s a joint account, but he allows me to expand with my ideas and vice versa, we’re pretty open to each other’s input
Eklund says:
kk
Mikey - If you call, I will answer... - around, packing, leaver - says:
shoot
Eklund says:
so i have heard from a unanamous source that the salary cap is going way way up. what do you have to say about that. is it true
Mikey - If you call, I will answer... - around, packing, leaver - says:
should i change my name to Leafs?
Eklund says:
ill just copy and paste this, so ys that would help people no who you are
Leafs says:
ok
Leafs says:
Well, there was a few people from the site asking if it was raising and before the season began, it was definitely on the rise, and we were looking at around 36 to 38 Million for next season to help out with the rising prices of contracts. Now with the budget, it also helps players keep the price tags down with bonus clauses that count against the budget and not the cap.
Leafs says:
So as long as they didn’t exceed 60M including their cap space, they would be fine.
Eklund says:
is it true that the league will make budgets required next season
Leafs says:
Yes, all budgets will be required. It helps keep track of salaries for staff and bonuses and stuff like that. We’re also looking at making the league send in all the players that have NTC and we’ll make a big list of them so people know exactly who needs to waive and such. With the amount of contract extentions and free agency signings, it’s becoming necessary. We already had a few mistakes with
Leafs says:
the Straka incident, and we all know where he went to because of it. The last thing we want is more players leaving ManNHL, expecially since the fan base leaves with those important players.
Leafs says:
And we all know what happenes with a decreasing fan base,
Eklund says:
is it true that jagr might leave? khl sayds thay are getting him
Leafs says:
Even Montreal has been asking me if they are going to try and poach them. As far as I’m concerned, Montreal opened the door to that situation, but as I stated before, we will support all teams that chase KHL players, and if the KHL tries to poach back, we’ll just return the favor once again. It would be sad to see Jagr go, but if he decides to leave, it will show that he truly is for the money and
Leafs says:
not for the higher level of game play.
Leafs says:
So he’s not really the type of player you’d want to stick around.
Eklund says:
so you think mannhl is better hockey than khl, for the record?
Leafs says:
I do. It’s a higher pace, and we feature players from all over the world, not just a majority of Europeans. No offense, but a second rate league fronted by a billionaire isn’t going to do much in terms of taking down a legue with a hundred years of history. But, they are definitely making a mark financially on ManNHL
Eklund says:
kk
Eklund says:
how do you mean financially
Leafs says:
Well, as I stated with the important players leaving ManNHL, the fan base decreases. Once the fan base decreases teams lose money, our league revenue sharing goes out the window, and the budgets have to be lowered for the clubs. If they are lowered by any percentage, the salary cap will have to lower as well. So teams that are at the cap wall as we speak are going to have to make more sacrifices
Leafs says:
to offset the amount of revenue generated by ManNHL versus the amount of dollars spent by the KHL.
Leafs says:
So free agents are beginning to accept contracts in the KHL because he money is guaranteed there.
Eklund says:
IC
Leafs says:
yeah, it’s not exactly a pretty picture, but something has to give somewhere. I think if people try and destroy the revenue generated in the KHL by offering more contracts to their players to come over might actually bring the fan base we have in Europe back to ManNHL. Afterall, we televise every single game for every single team. And we broadcast them worldwide thanks to our new television
Leafs says:
contract we worked out last year with TeleNations
Eklund says:
so does that mean its actually good for the cap if people sign more khl players??
Leafs says:
Yes. The more players they sign, the more European fan base, the more dollars spent on ManNHL clubs, the more revenue earned, the more revenue shared, the more money we can spend as a whole, the higher the budget goes, the more cap space there is available.
Leafs says:
that’s the latter.
Leafs says:
It’s an interesting chain of events. Without progress in that chain, the less progress we make as a whole.
Eklund says:
a vip told me they get more budget, is that true. it wasn;t on the site so i dunno if i believe him
Leafs says:
And I don’t believe any franchise in this league wants to lose momentum.
Eklund says:
sorry i interruptesd you
Leafs says:
That’s not anything I’ve been informed of, but since I don’t control the VIP idea at all, that’s the PR’s baby, I really have no idea what’s going on in terms of what they can and cannot do, but I do love the idea of bringing it into ManNHL. And I thank the PR for evolving the league into honoring our members with that opportunity.
Leafs says:
So, I pretty much said all that was needed to say. If I had to say anything else, it’s to tell our franchises to poach more players.
Leafs says:
Were there any more rumors needed to be discussed or any other questions?
Eklund says:
kk i am out of questions i think if there are more i will pm you and do what we normally do.
Eklund says:
thank you leafs have a good night.
Leafs says:
You too Ek, say hello to the family for me.
