UPDATE 3:
If you aren't going to be able to make the draft, feel free to pm me your preferences for your pick, and I'll do my best to land you that player if you don't wanna just get the next availale highest rated player.
UPDATE 2:
You can add any combination of picks to your selection. If you have 1 first rounder, you will combine every single pick for that player. If you have loads of 2nd to 5th round picks and you have the 30th selection, you still have the ability of landing a star player in the 90s. It sounds extreme, but it's realistic to the NHL. Sometimes, you find a diamond in the rough, we make that possible. The draft is an important part of this site. Draft picks count.
You can add unlimited picks to that player. Here's their worth:
1st - Enables you to draft a player.
Additional 1st - 5 stat points
2nd - 3 stat points
3rd - 2 stat points
4th - 1 stat point
5th - 1 stat point
If you have 3 first rounders, you can combine them all on one pick or draft 2 combined first and another first (2 players) or draft 3 seperate players. Your call. You get to manage your own draft.
When you do draft, specify how many picks and which ones are going into the player.
UPDATE 1:
You can only draft a player if you have a 1st rounder. IF you do not, you can either deal the rest of your picks away, lose them, or trade them all in for a player rated a 70. The player's name will be provided to you after the rest of the teams select their players. The left over names is who you will get, starting with the weakest available rated player.
Steven Stamkos is a C?!?! I have the top pick and I want him, but I want him to play the wing!
Totally fine, just specify what side you want him to play on. His height and weight will be made accordingly to his bio.
But! You CAN NOT make a defensemen become a goaltender or a forward. That goes for all positions. You can rotate the player's position up front, but you can't make him become a completely different player.
ALL FORWARDS REMAIN FORWARDS.
ALL DEFENSEMEN REMAIN DEFENSEMEN.
ALL GOALTENDERS REMAIN GOALTENDERS.
It will be much easier for myself and the player rep to figure out who's who for teams. We ask that you have your complete roster sorted out for Thursday at the latest based on the following:
1. Updated rosters - Depth chart is not a necessity at the moment. But your roster need to be completely accurate.
2. Specify when their contracts expire. We'll be going through all resignings and extentions and if you have a player that's slated to be a UFA, I'm sure you're going to want the decision to retain him or not. Those teams that do not have their rosters updated for Thursday will lose out on those players.
Note: Teams that do not have a general manager will lose the ability to retain any and all UFA's and RFA's.
UFAS: Follow the same order as before with us. We will post them all and you can start negotiating with the player rep. This process could take a while, but it's alright, we won't start the season until the top players are spoken for. These players will have a SMILEY FACE on the thread.
RFAS: This will run a bit differently. In the thread for the players, you DO NOT post your offer sheet. I will show what each figure (salary amount) is worth in terms of draft picks. If that team does not have an owner, the PLAYER REP will make the decision to retain or accept the draft picks. Do not contest his decision or there will be hell to pay lol.
Not posting the bids for the RFAs keeps it quiet, and allows the bidding to go on internally, instead of right out in the open and become a bidding war. However, the PR has all the rights to give out or retain whatever information he wants. If you want that player badly, I'd suggest you don't mention it to anyone just how much your offer is.
After a certain amount of time of the PR's discression, he will contact the team of the highest bid he's received and will give them whatever time he wants to match or accept draft pick compensation.
The Draft:
Wednesday (Tomorrow) Night at 7:00 P.M. Eastern Time
If you do not live in the Eastern Time Zone, please refer to your computer clock for what the appropriate time will be to attend.
Teams Missing the Draft: (This will contain information for all teams going into the draft, so please read carefully.)
I will be conducting the draft, hopefully with the player rep, but it will be run as so:
1. Teams not attending will still draft the next highest rated available player. If they only have ONE 1st round pick, all other picks will be added to that player to make him as best as possible. If a team has TWO first round picks, I will make their primary pick stacked and their secondary pick as is. So, if they have 2 firsts and 1 second, the first selection will get the 1st and 2nd, the second selection will receive just the 1st.
2. All picks are shown with their rating going into the draft. Obviously, the higher the pick, the better chance you have at a higher rated player. I thank Philly for the list of prospects he's supplied our league to make it easier on me.
3. Trades can take place during the draft! A team has exactly 2 minutes each selection to chose a player, if the team can not select a player within that timeframe, I will select the player for them. IF a trade is reached, ANNOUNCE IT! We don't want to sit there for an hour wondering what's going on. The trade MUST be posted in the drafting thread upon which our cast of mods and admins will immediately approve or deny the trade. IF a NTC/NMC player is apart of the deal, we will not accept or reject the trade, as it becomes the PLAYER REP'S immediate decision. If the rep isn't present, I will be the judge of the trade. If the rep doesn't appreciate my decision afterwards, he has all the rights to request a trade for that player immediately following the draft. So hope he's there and kiss his ass a little.
4. Before, the draft was set up where the top 5 picks got 5 additional stat points added to their pick automatically. This will no longer be in effect as each player is rated an appropriate overall to the choice selection. HOWEVER you CAN draft whoever the hell you want that is AVAILABLE, so if you wanna select a guy who's slated to be draftd 14th at the 3rd pick placement, by all means.
IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS, PLEASE CREATE A THREAD IN GENERAL SECTION AND WE WILL DISCUSS IT.
