May 16, 2011 Updates:
These will eventually be added to the appropriate sections, but I wanted to have them all in one section for quick-viewing on recent changes and updates.
- THIS PAGE is now added to important league info. Read it before offering for non-NHL players please.
- We now need you to post transactions involving draft picks here as well, so they can be kept track of and processed simply, efficiently, and effectively. The board can be found long-ways though Offseason>Draft Central
- When you sign a player 35 and up to a multi-year contract, their whole contract will count against your cap for the duration. Even if they retire.
- Unless I am very clearly engaged in a C-box conversation, don't bother telling PR to "check PMs" in the C-Box. I work mostly out of my Inbox so its almost always a waste of time since I see the PM before the cbox message.
- Unless otherwise noted, everything is "on the record" during negotiations, so players are aware of what you are saying. If you want to talk to me without the player knowing, indicate so. Even a simple "OTR" will suffice.
- Along the same lines as above, if you want something kept confidential (between you and PR - no Trade Whisperer, no other GMs, nothing at all) say so. I won't ever break confidentiality if you are trying to do some sort of secret mischief related to signings, etc. Please note, this does not include crimes or anything else really related to the real world. It is so you can offer without fear of Trade Whisperings, etc.
- Signing bonuses count towards "this seasons" cap. Performance bonuses, if met, count towards the following seasons cap. But signing bonuses are effective immediately, with year one of the contract.
May 16, 2011 Addition:
Player/team options. They are a massive pain in the ass so don;t offer them unless they will make a difference. The reason Oilers was a big deal and was accepted by Jagr was because it INCREASED. If you offer a PO with a DECREASE, the player will not be interested at all. So don't bother.
May 17, 2011 Update:
- European players drafted LESS THAN 3 years ago (so in 2008 and after) are considered property of their draft-team.
- European players drafted MORE THAN 3 years ago (before 2008) are free to offer.
- Don't offer coaches NTCs. You cannot trade them.
June 13, 2011 Update
Board Rule Update: You are not allowed to block any GM from PMing you. If someone is harassing you, you may rat them out to PR or Leafs and we will deal with them, but you cannot block someone entirely, since the site is built on GM transactions. Just cause someone is a moron or a dink (Canadiens), doesn't mean you can;t work out SOME deal with them a some point in the future. Anyone blocking GMs will be given a warning, then a strike should it continue.
